Temple University is committed to increasing sustainability awareness throughout the curriculum and developing and promoting new sustainability curricular initiatives. The university offers a range of environmental and sustainability-related courses at its Main, Ambler and Health Science campuses.

The university strives for the development of robust academic initiatives that provide basic knowledge of the environmental, social and economic issues, along with discipline-specific degree offerings that equip students with the tools to tackle sustainability problems.

In an effort to address climate change and to be effective leaders in sustainability initiatives, Temple University is expanding research to include the development of fundamental and applied sustainability research programs, with a focus on urban ecology, viewed through a cross-disciplinary approach.

This 4 course interdisciplinary certificate will enhance students’ knowledge of sustainable systems, help them become change agents for sustainability, and make graduates more competitive as sectors move toward a green-collar economy.
