ACUPCC Climate Commitment

The American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) is a high-visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate.

Climate Action Plan

As a member of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), Temple University has developed a Climate Action Plan. The Climate Action Plan has been submitted to the American College and University President's Climate Commitment on May 24, 2010 and outlines Temple's plan for achieving climate neutrality.

Greenhouse Gas Inventory

One of the requirements of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) is to complete a Greenhouse Gas Inventory. Temple University has submitted inventories for fiscal years 2006 through 2012. A Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory quantifies Temple University’s anthropogenic GHG emissions.

ACUPCC Progress Reports

As an ACUPCC signatory, Temple University submits a biannual progress report on their Climate Action Plan. This report helps the university assess and track progress toward the goals outlined in the Climate Action Plan, and share that progress with stakeholders and the general public. Temple's first progress report was submitted in December 2012.
