One of the requirements of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) is to complete a Greenhouse Gas Inventory. Temple University has submitted inventories for fiscal years 2006 through 2012. A Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory quantifies Temple University’s anthropogenic GHG emissions from energy consumption, waste disposal, agricultural activities, use of chemicals and refrigerants, and commuter transportation choices. The inventory serves as a baseline and guide for GHG reduction strategies as Temple moves towards achieving carbon neutrality. Temple’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory includes only those campuses in the United States where the university has operational control and can enforce a change in policy and include Main Campus, Ambler College, College of Podiatric Medicine (COPM), and the Health Sciences Campus (HSC).
