The Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development is designed to stimulate contributions toward sustainable development for the benefit of engineering, construction and chemical organizations, the academic community, and society as a whole. Open to undergraduate and graduate students who are studying engineering, architecture, building and construction management or chemistry, the award will recognize innovative practices, methods and ideas in the areas of new building techniques, new chemical and petrochemical processes and alternative uses of sustainable materials. The first place project will receive a total of $45,000 ($25,000 to the student(s), $15,000 to the faculty adviser and $5,000 to the university). Second and third place projects also receive awards.
Entries will be accepted from January 1 to May 31, 2017.
