SPARK, a 24-hour, think-tank style competition designed to address innovative science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-related problem statements. Hosted at select universities across the country, SPARK provides students the opportunity to solve real-world challenges addressing energy, water, environmental and manufacturing issues alongside working business professionals from the challenged organizations. Participants have included Fortune 500 companies, governmental entities and other organizations. This competition will be hosted at Temple and will invite students from Villanova, Drexel and Temple to develop innovative solutions to sustainability challenges facing the Philadelphia region. Students will compete in inter-university teams for a cash prize.
