Water management is complicated and highly contentious. This course evaluates various aspects of water resources including quality, flooding, supply and allocation and the interaction of these issues with global warming. Management alternatives are evaluated, ranging from fragmented to more integrated forms such as multi-jurisdictional river basin and ecosystem management. We will also consider water resource planning and management from various scales including local, state, national and international. The course will include guest speakers with national and international expertise.
