Temple Student Government

Temple Student Government (TSG) is an umbrella organization for all students, including those at the graduate and undergraduate level. The Senate (formerly the General Assembly) is used as a forum to pass legislative bills and allow students to voice their concerns about any issue. Because TSG represents the voice of all students, it is important that students use TSG as a tool to positively impact life at the University. Temple Student Government is also an organization that actively recruits student leaders. Student leaders are an essential component in the operation of the government. TSG provides leadership opportunities for those looking to get involved regardless of their experience level.

Temple Student Government leadership appoints a director of grounds and sustainability who works collaboratively with Office of Sustainability staff and oversees a number of student-led campaigns around sustainability and climate action. Past efforts have included organizing around single use dishware in campus dining halls, participation in climate action plan town halls, and more. This past year, Temple Student Government Sustainability Taskforce was awarded the first ever Green Grant for their bike-powered Compost Collection Service. If you are interested in joining the TSG Sustainability taskforce as a compost volunteer or as an organizer on one of their active campiagns, please fill out this interest form.
