Go Carbon Neutral to Fight Climate Change!

Approximately one-fifth of Temple University's greenhouse gas emissions is attributed to transportation. Whether you are flying to a conference in Arizona or driving to visit family in Iowa, there are ways to offset your carbon footprint!

Through groups like carbonfund.org, you can purchase a tax-deductible donation in the form of a carbon offset. That money goes to third-party validated sustainability projects, such as renewable energy or reforestation projects. Then, instead of selling the carbon credits or using them to pollute (like some corporations do), Carbonfund.org retires the credits, meaning that they are taken out of circulation forever, effectively reducing your carbon footprint! Simply put, they retire carbon by not using it!

They have plenty of options for individuals, businesses, and families. They even offer opportunities for you to plant trees in exchange for restaurant gift cards! Check out their site for sustainable travel tips and all of their offers.
