Move Out Sustainably

The end of the semester (and move-out season) is fast-approaching on Temple’s campus and surrounding areas. Often times when we move, we end up with a large pile of things we no longer need. Instead of throwing those unwanted items out, donate them to reduce waste and help those in need!

Moving from a TU Residence Hall?
As a part of the Give + Go Green initiative, collection boxes are conveniently located in the residence hall lobbies during the last couple of weeks of the semester. The unwanted items you contribute will be donated to charitable organizations! Clothing, shoes, bags, belts, household goods and non-perishable, unopened food are all accepted.

Moving from an Off-Campus location?
If you’ve ever lived off-campus in the summer, you know when the move days are. Streets are packed with people, U-Haul trucks and, unfortunately, piles of unwanted household items. Whether it is because you do not have room for all your stuff, or simply no longer need it, there are some excellent FREE donation pick-up services available!

Free Donation Pick-ups
These are just some of the services that will pick up your donations! There are also other options including collection bins and/or re-use stores where you can personally drop off your items.

Before you leave your stuff on the curb to be sent straight to the landfill, consider donating to somebody that really needs it!
