The Office of Sustainability wants to fund your next big green idea!
Temple Sustainability's Green Grant builds upon Temple University’s commitment to sustainability by funding student-led projects, programs and initiatives that advance the Office of Sustainability's mission and have a positive impact on campus and our local environment and community. The grant application opens late in the fall semester and winners are selected early the following calendar year. Project implementation and execution spans the spring semester.
Eligibility
Applicants are required to be active members of a recognized student organization or involved in the Office of Sustainability’s EcoRep program. Project leads must have at least one semester of involvement with their student organization or a semester of involvement in the EcoReps program at the time of application submission. Applicants that cite their membership of a recognized student organization must include a signature of support from the organization president. Applicants involved in EcoReps must identify a project co-lead and provide their signature of support.
Applicants can list up to two additional Project Co-Leads. Projects that involve participation or partnership from non-Temple students (e.g. community members, local non-profits, etc.) are permitted, but projects are required to be student-led.
Project Requirements
The proposed project must address at least one component of sustainability per the Office of Sustainability's definition: the interdependence of ecological, social and economic systems. Priority will be given to proposals that address all three aspects. Projects must also include an educational, community engagement, and/or outreach component.
Proposals should include learning outcomes or other impact measures. Projects that require ongoing maintenance or long-term engagement should include a plan for continued operation after Green Grant funding period.
